Three Quick Reviews!

Three quick reviews, I say. I say, three quick reviews!

What does that mean? Well, over the past few weeks I've read/listened to three books while I have been recovering from a superficial keratectomy on my right eye. I'm still not completely healed, so my screen time is limited to avoid dry eye.

BOOK 1: The Hating Game: A Novel by Sally Thorne
At work girl hates co-worker guy, guy hates co-worker girl. So, in order to to survive their jobs, they create games to play during the day-in-day-out humdrum. However, when a new job opens up, and the competitive duo begin their own presentations, we see their true feelings for each other come out. This is my type of book--nerdy and snarky all rolled into one.

BOOK 2: Project 105 by M. Rheinheimer
A book of poetry always soothes my soul, and this anthology was perfect for my downtime. Admittedly, I do know this author in real life, and I was pleased to be reading her writing again. It's raw, and self-aware, which made me focus on what really matters in life. I can't say I have a favorite poem, because so many spoke to me. Read this! You won't be sorry.

BOOK 3: The Fifth Doll by Charlie N. Holmberg
I don't even know where to begin with this book, but I do want to say that it was chosen by my book club, and that's why I read it. Otherwise, I would have quit about 1/4 of the way into the book. The action was slow to develop, and I'm still not sure I completely understand how the dolls work. Plus, I didn't like any of the characters. I found them to be one dimensional, and self righteous. However, I did like the word choices for the imagery.

I have six more books until I hit my yearly goal. Any ideas what I should read next? If so...email me or comment!

NOTE: I bought and paid for each of these books on my own, and did not receive any compensation for these reviews.
