BOOK REVIEW: NO EXIT by Taylor Adams

Thrilling. Suspenseful. Sitting on the edge of my seat.

If those words describe the type of books you like to read, then check out NO EXIT by Taylor Adams.

The story hinges around a major snowstorm on Christmas Eve, which strands five people in a high altitude Colorado rest area: Darby, the main character and student at the University of Colorado Boulder; Ashley, a good looking gentleman and college student; Ed, a former veterinarian; Sandi, Ed's cousin; and Lars, the quiet outlier. The protagonist Darby, who's undergoing mental duress when she finds out her mom has cancer, is trying to send a text to her sister. As she's roaming around outside trying to find a cell signal, Darby sees a hand in a van parked next to her car.

It's not just any hand...but the hand of a child.

No one inside of the rest area said they had a child, and once Darby breaks into the van, she realizes the child has been kidnapped, and one of the strangers inside of the rest area is the culprit.

But, who is it? And, how dangerous are they?

In this psychological and physical thriller, we go on a roller coaster ride of adrenaline when Darby realizes that appearances don't mean anything, and betrayal cuts deep.

I want to give away more, but I can't! I refuse to ruin the book for a reader. However, let me say the twist at the end forced me to reread the last five pages! I like it when books make me do that!

WAIT! Let me give away one minor spoiler: A nail gun will be used as a weapon. A LOT.

RATED: 4 Stars

NOTE: I bought and paid for the book on my own, and did not receive any compensation for this review.
